Our first day at the Green Earth Centre! We had a very relaxing weekend, just getting to know the area. We biked to GEC on our new bicycles.

We had a big tour of the GEC when we got there. The Green Earth Centre sits on about 100 acres of land. We got to see different plants they had, which included: Cardamom, Passion Fruit, Coconuts, Avocado, Banana, Kasava, Taro, Mushrooms, Cabbage, Mao Berry, Hot pepper, Black Pepper, Squash, Pineapple, Mango, Papaya and they also grow a nut called Sasha Inshi. If you have any questions about any of the plants, let me know! I would be happy to answer them.
After the tour, I had some time to catch up on schoolwork before we biked home at about 4:00 pm. We found a really nice restaurant that was very close to our house, so we ate there. I got noodle soup and Mom got a veggie and rice stir fry, it was delicious! I will keep you updated on our status in Lao Ngam. La garn!
Word of the Day: Nie (pronounced: neye), it means big/large.
Wow that’s a nie farm!!! So many crops. It must be gorgeous.

We will be using the bikes yes! But in the rainy season it may become too hard to bike on the dirt roads, so we may have to walk. It is so ngam here! Say hi to Uncle for me, and Noah & Adalyn ❤ love you xoxo

The place is beautiful. What do they do with the nut. Can you make nut butter from it? Love the bikes. Do most people ride bikes. Is there much traffic? How close is your school? Love this blog Taya. AP

The nut is a crop that GEC sells to lots of different companies. But as of now they do not do anything with the nut. It is very healthy and is loaded with lots of Protein and Omega-3. I’m nut sure if you can make nut butter with it, but you can make a lot of different oils out of it. A few people ride bikes like us, but most people ride motor bikes, luckily there is not too much traffic. I am yet to start at the school, It may be January when I actually start going to school, since that is their new semester. But it is very close to where we live!
